Jeremy Piven has tentatively confirmed that an Entourage movie has been given the go ahead, while speaking to Jimmy Fallon on his late night talk show.

Piven said that the movie had been "commissioned," which probably means that creator Doug Ellin is being paid to write the script. Series producer Mark Wahlberg had said previously that he would fund the movie himself if he had to. Cable network, HBO, which produced the long running show, has had huge success before by transferring Sex and the City to the big screen. Entourage doesn't have that kind of international following, but could still be a solid hit if done right.

I loved the show. It's first five seasons are some of my favourite television ever; but it then became only sporadically great. The last season in particular felt horribly rushed - nice set up for a movie, though.
