Leto has been feeling pretty hard done by lately following his role as the Joker in Suicide Squad. But now he can move on from that horror to this new, way cooler project.
Leto will join Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford for Blade Runner 2.
Other cast members who have been confirmed include Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Lennie James and Ana de Armas.
Denis Villeneuve, who helmed Sicario and Prisoners, is directing, while the awesome cinematographer Roger Deakins (The Shawshank Redemption, No Country For Old Men, Skyfall and more) will create the look of the film.
Original director Ridley Scott will executive produce and original writer Hampton Fancher is also returning for Alcon Entertainment
Fords will return as Deckard but all other plot and character details, including any in relation to Leto, are being kept firmly under wraps.
In any case, it’s shaping up to be a good’un.
