Platinum Dunes, the company behind pretty much every horror remake in the past six years, have found their new Freddy Krueger for the Nightmare on Elm Street reboot, and its Watchmen and Little Children star Jackie Earle Haley. The film, which will have no input from original writer/director Wes Craven, has been in development for some time, and Hayley had long been mooted by the online community as the one who would be most suited to the role. For someone one is actually incredibly softly spoken and nice, Hayley plays an awful lot of murders and sociopaths; anyway, a great actor he is, so this may not be the lost cause we had all expected.
