Chris Pine is the man about town at the moment as the 'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit' front man is being lined up to star in a new thriller 'The Line', it has been revealed by The Hollywood Reporter

The picture, scribed by The Walking Dead producer-writer Sang Kyu Kim, will be directed by David Gordon Green. More famous for his director roles in action comedies such as 'Pineapple Express' and 'Your Highness', Green, more recently, has been at the helm of the upcoming gritty drama, Joe, starring Nicolas Cage.

'The Line' will star Pine as a patrol officer in turmoil after losing both his wife and son, unexpectedly. By chance, he ends up finding himself the minder of a child orphaned after a skirmish with a criminal cartel. The film follows the 2 as the patrol agent attempts to defend the boy, and himself, by going on the run, discovering that he' a wanted man on both sides of the law.
