It was also announced that Warner Brothers will start shooting the film in New York this October.
With time running short, it was time for the studio to pick an actress to join Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina (who appeared in Neighbours 2). For a while, there was a rumour going around that it could be Jennifer Lawrence, given the film will be helmed by Hunger Games' director Gary Ross. But she may be a little out of budget now.
In that case, who could bring both the no-nonsense attitude and that kick-ass factor required of this cast?
Sarah Paulson, that’s who.
We are absolutely delighted at the news. Paulson is best-known for her appearances in American Horror Story and O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, the latter of which she is up for an Emmy with a strong chance of winning. She also recently joined the cast of FX anthology series Feud.
Paulson is reportedly still in early talks for the role but fingers crossed because the film could definitely benefit from her edginess.
The flick will be directed by Gary Ross and produced by Ocean’s Eleven director Steven Soderbergh.
