The Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot crime comedy beat out all of the other movie releases this past year.

entertainment.ie can exclusively reveal that the Netflix record-breaker 'Red Notice' has managed to claim the top spot as the most searched movie on Irish Google for 2021.

The comedic caper was a late release of the year, hitting theatres on November 5 before heading onto Netflix on November 12. However, there was a lot of buzz surrounding the film due to the star power in front of the camera. While it has yet to be confirmed, Netflix is likely eyeing a sequel.

Also in the top ten list of most searched movies on Irish Google this year are the sci-fi epic 'Dune', Daniel Craig's final outing as James Bond in 'No Time To Die' and Marvel's new superheroes 'Eternals'. Here's the full top ten list.

In terms of TV shows, it's another Netflix title that claims the top spot. The late 2020 release of 'Bridgerton' ensured that it became the most searched TV show on Irish Google. A sequel series will hit our screens in the new year.

Interestingly, the series was crowned the most-watched TV series on the streaming platform earlier this year, before it was dethroned by another title, which as it happens, also claimed the second spot on the most-searched Google list of 2021 - 'Squid Game'.

HBO's 'Mare Of Easttown' with Kate Winslet, Irish crime drama 'Kin' and the 'Eurovision' all managed to take a place on the list too. Here's the complete top ten.
