Ireland's next IMAX screen is on its way to Blanchardstown and will arrive just in time for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

ODEON Blanchardstown will be the site of Ireland's very first IMAX to come with reclining seats. The cinema screen, which is called ODEON Luxe, will come equipped with 310 reclining seats with their very own handtable, larger legroom and more personal space. The current Screen 9 at ODEON Blanchardstown is set to be reopened as an IMAX screen on December 4th.

Speaking at the announcement, IMAX Europe's MD Giovanni Dolci said that "ODEON shares IMAX’s commitment to entertainment excellence and we look forward to combining the world’s most immersive cinema experience together with luxury seating to deliver a truly special offering to moviegoers in Blanchardstown."

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will most likely be the first IMAX film to screen, with the likes of Maze Runner: The Death Cure due for January 2018 and Black Panther and Pacific Rim: Uprising slated for release in February 2018.
