Last year's low-budget sleeper hit Monsters looks like it may get a sequel, or so say Screen Daily anyway. Gareth Edwards' tale of a couple making their way through an 'infected zone' in South America which contains all manner of bloodthirsty aliens was an excellent example of a low budget flick but with all the gloss of a film ten times its budget. Edwards will not helm this project, instead handing the reigns over to new directors Brent Bonacorse and Jesse Atlas, but the story will be befitting the original with a teacher journeying into the infected zone to locate his military brother who has gone AWOL.
