It's long been rumoured, but now it's official - a fifth Indiana Jones film is on the way for 2019.

The news, which has just been announced and confirmed, has it that Steven Spielberg will be returning to the director's seat in 2019 and so to will Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, when he will be 76 years of age. As of yet, there's no word on an official title, plot or anything of the sort beyond the official announcement.

Back when Disney purchased Lucasfilm from George Lucas, the announcement coincided with the reveal of The Force Awakens and the continuation of the Star Wars franchise. At that time, an Indiana Jones film wasn't being planned as the focus was getting The Force Awakens into production as quickly as possible.
