The former Marvel Comics editor-in-chief passed away last night at the age of 95, just some time before Jackman arrived to tape 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert'. As Colbert brought out an old photo of Lee and Jackman, the Australian actor launched into a story about his first time at San Diego Comic Con.

"If you ever wanna get a real understanding of where you are in the world, I'm Wolverine, I'm walking into Comic Con, this is... y'know, a good day for me. I was on a red carpet, and I was the only one on it and nobody was taking my photo because at the other end was Stan Lee. There was about 300 photographers and interviews, all on stand."

As well as this, Jackman talked about his first time playing Wolverine, figuring out that a wolverine is not some kind of wolf (it's kind of like a marten), and how Stan Lee was "a creative genius."

Take a look.
