Hurrah for film fans, the Cork Film Festival is taking place from November 9th - 17th and it's going to be a full-on affair. The epic programme has just been announced and with big budget films, shorts from Ireland and abroad, documentaries all in the mix, there will definitely be something for everyone.

Opening the festival is Alexander Payne's latest Nebraska starring Bruce Dern in a Cannes Palme d'Or winning performance. Kill Your Darlings is the closing night presentation which stars Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe as Beat poet Allen Ginsberg.

Other big name films that will be screened include The Counselor with Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz, Robert Redford's latest All is Lost and Palme d'Or winner, the opinion-dividing Blue is the Warmest Colour.

There will be an air of rebellion about the place (no surprise since it takes place in the rebel county after all) with screenings of documentaries Forbidden Voices, Silence is Gold and 99% - The Occupy Wall Street Film.

There are so many more highlights including a series of Punk documentaries, a presentation of the entire run of acclaimed television series Burning Bush, directed by the legendary Agnieszka Holland and a special festival-within-a-festival which will showcase the best shorts that Cork, Ireland and the world in general have to offer.

It doesn't end there, the list is simply exhaustive (that's a good thing). With so much in store, you would be daft to miss this year's Cork Film Festival. Oh, and on the off-chance that you will need to persuade someone to go with you, Dylan Moran will be there to discuss his favourite films.
