Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick) and Tracee Ellis Ross (Girlfriends, 'Black-ish) announced the 2019 Oscars nominations.
Leading the charge are the films Roma and The Favourite which got ten nods each. A Star is Born followed with nine nods. Black Panther, interestingly, earned seven nominations.
Of Irish interest, The Favourite was co-produced by Irish production company Element Pictures. Most notably, Irish DoP Robbie Ryan earned a nomination for Best Cinematography.
Two Irish short films have also received nominations - Late Afternoon in the animated category and Detainment for live-action.
