Variety (what would we do without you) is reporting that Maggie Gyllenhaal is to replace Toni Collette in Sam Mendes' untitled relationship comedy that is to star (The Office and Leatherheads’ thesp) John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph (from Saturday Night Live). The ever excellent Gyllenhaal will play a bohemian college professor who is an old friend of Krasinski’s character. The strangely attractive actress will next be seen in The Dark Knight, taking over from Katie Holmes as Bruce Wayne’s Mrs. Collette dropped out due to a scheduling conflict .
