'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' finally has its first trailer and by the looks of things, James Gunn is going out with a bang.

Last time we saw the Guardians team on the big screen (if you're keeping up with the ever-expanding and hard-to-consume Marvel Cinematic Universe) they were helping Thor discover how to be Thor again and know it looks like it's time for the time to find out who they are. Or Rocket and Gamora, at the very least.

The third and final James Gunn-directed adventure in the franchise has some familiar beats in the trailer, including a reliable catchphrase from a now very swole Groot, but seems to be focusing on wrapping up the trilogy and focusing on Rocket's backstory while also bringing the alternate timeline Gamora back into the fold.

We also finally got a look at Will Poulter's Adam Warlock in all his gold shimmery glory, who comes with a very Vision-y appendage in the middle of his forehead, giving some of the team a beating so safe to say there'll be plenty of action amidst the tearful farewells.

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' is set for release in Irish cinemas on May 5th, 2023.
