Universal Pictures have seen their latest Paul Greengrass/Matt Damon collaboration, Green Zone, underperform at the North American box-office, as it brought in $14.5 million behind Alice In Wonderland's second weekend tally of $61 million.

Enforcing the widely thought notion that films about Iraq will not put bums in seats; even the marketing, which made it look like an action movie couldn't save the day. The studio should still see solid returns worldwide on its $100 million investment, as the film has been garnering strong reviews and word of mouth will invariably follow.

Elsewhere Robert Pattinson drama Remember Me opened with a soso $8.2 million; while the comedy, She's Out Of My League bowed to $9.6 million.
