Believe it or not, Goldie Hawn has been off our screens since 2002, when she starred in the meh-comedy The Banger Sisters with Diane Keaton.
She did, however, turn up in one episode of cult animated comedy Phineas & Ferb, but since then she's been more or less off our screen. Why that is, we've no idea but we're all the lesser for it. She's starred in some truly classic comedies, like Death Becomes Her, The First Wives' Club, Overboard and Private Benjamin.
All that looks set to change, thanks to Amy Schumer. The under-fire comedian is putting together a new action-comedy where Hawn will play Schumer's mother with 50/50 director Jonathan Levine behind the camera. The film will see Hawn and Schumer play a mother / daughter duo who are trapped in a vacation scenario.
According to sources, both Frances McDormand and Sally Field were both offered the role and passed for unknown reasons. It'll be interesting to see Hawn back on screen, as she's undoubtedly one of the best comedic actors - male or female - of our time. Here's hoping she signs off and gets back to it.
