So as it turns out that whole female Expendables thing is really happening. And they've already got their first star. No prizes for guessing that it's Gina Carano; ass-kicking her way through an impressive turn in Haywire last year opposite Michael Fassbender. She's the kind of woman that men both fantasize about and fear at the same time.
As per Variety, the female version of the film will be penned by Dutch Southern and produced by Adi Shankar of 1984 Private Defence Contractors. Commenting on the forthcoming flick he said: "I don't know how I'm supposed to make a movie that is supposed to be the female version of The Expendables without Gina Carano in it... It would be like making Twix without caramel or Jamba Juice without jamba."
Carano will next be seen in The Fast and the Furious 6; go figure. She's hardly going to appear in a David Nicholls script, now is she.
Who else will join the ranks of formiddable women? Come ON Beyonce.
