Recent Oscar nominee, Gary Oldman will star opposite the very talented star of The Killing, Joel Kinnaman in the Jose Padilha directed remake of Robocop.
Michael Fassbender was being pursued to star for some time, but the Irish actor apparently has a lot of projects on the go. Kinnaman is fantastic in The Killing, and really excels even more in the second season. He's popped up in a blink and you'll miss it cameo in the David Fincher directed Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and also has a small, but significant role in Safe House. Hollywood likes the guy a lot, and he obviously has a strong agent because he's being linked with a lot of high profile roles.
Padilha has promised that his Robocop will be violent and bloody, but very different for the original 80s action flick.
