With the still-ongoing debacle surrounding Sony, The Interview and a confirmed link to North Korea with Sony Hack, studios are pushing anything to do with the Communist dictatorship out the window and into the skip.
First out is Pyongyang, a paranoid thriller set in the North Korean capital that was supposed to star Steve Carrell.
The studio backing the thriller, New Regency, have decided to not release the film - obviously on foot of Sony's woes with The Interview.
Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski was due to direct the thriller starring Carrell, who is gaining serious Oscar buzz for his disturbing performance as John DuPont in 2015's Foxcatcher.
A statement by Verbinski explained that New Regency had fully committed to funding the film with Fox planning to distribute the film.
Verbinski said that he found it "ironic that fear is eliminating the possibility to tell stories that depict our ability to overcome fear."
The future of the project remains uncertain, especially considering all studios are likely reevaluating anything even remotely related to North Korea.
