Take this with a pinch of salt - but the two leading picks by fans could star in the superhero team's MCU debut.

Husband and wife John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are believed to have been approached by Marvel for 'Fantastic Four' roles in the MCU.

There have long been rumours of the actors being considered by Kevin Feige and company to head up Marvel's first family - and it seems that the pair have yet again been brought back into the fray.

Following their new Phase Four trailer earlier this week, Marvel teased fans by flashing the famous "4" logo at the very end of the feature. However, no release date was given, making us wonder if the 'Fantastic Four' will actually be a part of the over-stuffed fourth phase of the MCU.

With no cast or team yet revealed, the rumour mill began circulating once again. According to reports, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are once again at the top of the pile for Reed Richards and Susan Storm, AKA Mr. Fantastic and The Invisible Woman. If true, this is the second time both actors have been approached.

Another report suggests that the 'Fantastic Four' roles will be revealed later this year, with the feature expected to land in cinemas in 2023. Given that the final MCU title with a concrete release date - 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' - will arrive on May 5, 2023, this could mean that the second half of the year would be dedicated to the launch of this new ensemble.

Stay tuned for more information on the 'Fantastic Four' roles - and whether any of these rumours are true - very soon.

In the meantime, the next movie starring John Krasinski and Emily Blunt will be 'A Quiet Place Part II', which hits cinemas here in June.
