The 'Harry Potter' prequel movie series has eyed an early release date in 2022, along with revealing the official title of the franchise's third entry.

Next Easter, get your wands at the ready for 'Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore'. The 'Fantastic Beasts 3' title was confirmed on Twitter by the franchise's official page, which also revealed its release date in cinemas will be April 22, 2022. Take a look at the graphic released below.

The third entry in the prequel series is expected to go more global than we've seen in the franchise thus far. South America, particularly Brazil, is expected to be a key location in the upcoming fantasy film. With the introduction of Albus Dumbledore in the previous instalment 'The Crimes of Grindelwald', and with that new official title, it seems guaranteed that Jude Law's role will be further expanded upon.

But what are these secrets, huh? Well, we can think of at least one we'd like to see actually be made reference to on screen for the first time, instead of a footnote remark made years later by the author - his sexuality.

Eddie Redmayne will return as the intrepid explorer Newt Scamander, who will be joined once again by Katherine Waterston's Tina and Dan Fogler's Jacob. In the last entry, Alison Sudol's Queenie went over to the "dark" side by teaming up with Grindelwald. The character, once played by Colin Farrell (in disguise), and then Johnny Depp (since fired), has been recast with Mads Mikkelsen in the role. Ezra Miller will also reprise his role as Credence.

The film was originally due to be released in July of next year, but Warner Bros. has decided to move its date up. All of the production company's film slate in 2022 will not be date and date releases, unlike the majority of this year's films, meaning titles will hit cinemas before their arrival on HBO Max instead of the same day.

In other 'Harry Potter' news, this year marks the 20th anniversary of 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' arriving in theatres. The big celebration? A quiz show hosted by Helen Mirren. Yes, really.

'Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore' releases in cinemas on April 15, 2022.
