Expendables 3 just got its director and it won't be Mel Gibson, it'll be Red Hill helmer Patrick Hughes. If you're not overly familiar with his work, don't worry; Red Hill was about the height of it. 66 year old star of the Expendables franchise Sly Stallone broke the news via his highly entertaining Twitter account (where all notions of grammar have gone out the proverbial window).
So first he began teasing us: "The director is an Aussie………", Then he wrote: "NOT Mel...Fresh talent... Directed a Damn good film 2 years ago…Think."
He then added: "Ok .. Last HINT He is NEW.. the last film he did was more RED than BLUE…"
Before revealing the big (if a little underwhelming) reveal...
"Hey , Everyone should go look at Patrick Hughes short film on U-Tube It is called SIGNS . It will move you in a GOOD WAY. You will LOVE it!"
