It's one of the most memorable scenes in a pretty iconic '90s film - but arguably, not particularly suitable for children.

That didn't stop Ewan McGregor showing his own kids the infamous 'toilet scene' in 'Trainspotting'.

As you may recall, McGregor's character Renton finds himself in dire need of a bathroom after taking suppositories, when he stumbles into 'the worst toilet in Scotland' at the back of a bookies.

Having done his business, he realises that he has lost the suppositories in the process and a rather unique scene follows where Renton hallucinates about diving into the toilet to retrieve them.

Not exactly family viewing - but in a new interview, McGregor said that he used to show his kids that scene for fun.

“I wasn’t there when [daughter] Clara watched ‘Trainspotting’ for the first time. But I did used to show my kids ‘the toilet scene.’ Just for a laugh," he said. "It’s a unique situation, perhaps, for a father to be able to show his children footage of him going down the toilet."

He added that he also recalls Clara - who is now an actress herself and stars alongside her father in new road movie 'You Sing Loud, I Sing Louder' - watching 'Moulin Rouge' for the first time “I have a memory of showing Clara ‘Moulin Rouge!,’ however," he said. "I think she was 9 years old. I put it on, and then I hear this wailing and crying. I rushed in, asking if I should switch it off and she went: ‘Noooo’!"
