Matthew Vaughn, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence have all officially signed up for a sequel to X-Men: First Class, reports Heat Vision.

The first film grossed a stellar $357 million worldwide but was more notable for how strong the reviews were - it was favourably compared to The Dark Knight by some critics. I absolutely loved it, and it's a remarkable result given how little time Vaughn and his production team had to turn it around. Funding studio Fox might also be looking at how big a star Michael Fassbender is turning into, and may want to get him signed before he starts charging crazy money for work.

Regardless, the first film is excellent and a sequel is more than welcome. The ending really set up a follow up perfectly.
