During an interview with the Radio Times, actress Vanessa Hudgens (who found fame at the tender age of 18 with that plethora of teeny-boppery High School Musical movies before shaking it all off in this year's Spring Breakers) oddly revealed that she's wanted to play a prostitute ever since she was a kid. Not exactly the kind of fare you expect the Disney folk to be drawn towards.

And now? Well we guess that dream's come true what with her forthcoming flick, The Frozen Ground (a story based on true events, wherein she stars opposite two silver-screen veterans, Nicolas Cage and John Cusack). Hudgens stars here as a prostitute who's fallen on particularly hard times; Cusack's serial killer character attempted to murder her (or so she claims) but it'll probably be OK considering Mr Cage is on the case.

Though she's still only a wee young thing at 24, when reflecting on her High School Musical days, she says 'I was young'.

When asked by Radio Times about the very distinctive change of direction she's currently experiencing, she said:

"Ever since I was really young I wanted to play a prostitute. It's just, like, thrilling as an actor to put yourself in a situation you, personally, would never be in. At the end of the day you’re just a kid playing pretend, so if you're going to do it, might as well go crazy with it!"
