Helmer of Easy A and Friends with Benefits, Will Gluck, will try his hand at directing action/comedy for the first time with Skyjack: The Hunt for D.B. Cooper.

According to Collider.com, the film will centre on real life highjacker, D.B. Cooper, who "hijacked a Boeing 727 in mid-flight to demand $200,000 and four parachutes. After jumping out of the plane somewhere over the Pacific Northwest, authorities were never able to catch him." The first I ever heard of this guy was on The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast, when fighter Chael Sonnen claimed to know who he was. It sounded like a very interesting tale, so it's somewhat unsurprisingly that a film is now being made about it. They never found this guy, and he was widely believed to have perished - but rumours always persisted. This all went down in the early 70s. This film will be based on the book by Geoffrey Gray.

Gluck is on somewhat of a run with romantic comedies and obviously has somewhat of a wry sense of humour. Whether or not he can handle the action elements of the story, we'll have to wait and see. He's apparently very into the story, and has been investigating it for some time with Gray.
