The first trailer for 'Dune' landed online yesterday and it has already accumulated millions of views.
The trailer gets a look in on almost all the characters, most notably Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet, the son of the powerful Duke Leto Atreides.
Oscar Isaac plays the latter.
Its A-list cast also includes Javier Bardem, Charlotte Rampling, Stellan Skarsgard, and Dave Bautista.
Zendaya is Chani, who becomes Paul Atreides' love interest, and Rebecca Ferguson is Paul's mother.
Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin and Sharon Duncan-Brewster play supporting roles.
Denis Villeneuve, the director of such films as 'Blade Runner 2049' and 'Arrival', helms the re-imagining of Frank Herbert's novel.
Plot wise, 'Dune' sees Paul Atreides sent to the distant planet Arrakis by order of the Padishah Emperor to help with the mining of spice, which has incredible powers.
While on Arrakis, the House of Atreides is engaged in a cold war with the House of Harkonnen, who were previously custodians of Arrakis and brutalised the local populace, known as Fremen.
IMDb have since released a side-by-side comparison of the 2020 movie's trailer alongside the original adaptation.
The first 'Dune' hit cinemas in 1984. David Lynch wrote and directed it, and Kyle MacLachlan played Paul.
