Blood Diamond director Ed Zwick has become attached to direct what is being called an "adventure flick" The Great Wall, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The story is being described as a "mystery adventure film about the origins of China’s greatest manmade structure." I'm assuming there's a skull or something of that ilk being sought by someone like Nic Cage in a wig, or rocking his usual mullet look - as you hear a brief synopsis like that and assume "National Treasure." No cast has been set, but it sounds like quenisental leading man material, so expect the Chris Pines', or Bradley Coopers' of this world to be linked with it fairly soon.

I've never been a massive fan of Zwick, but I know he has plenty of admirers. I actually thought his last film, Love and Other Drugs was one of his best and he seems remarkable at home with material like that - as opposed to more grandiose productions like Last Samurai or Defiance.
