Many folk had doubted the future of a Ryan Reynolds starring Deadpool movie, but news emerged this morning that reinvigorated fanboy fever somewhat. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, better known as the writers of the downright awesome Zombieland, have reportedly signed on to pen to the film.

According to the reliable folk at Chud.com, the twosome will team-up on the much-mooted over screenplay, which will hopefully ignore the shenanigans of X-Men: Origins, and give the ass-kicking, wise-cracking assassin a new lease of life.

Reynolds is currently gearing up for The Green Lantern, but with this news seeping through, the doubters who wondered if he could play two comic-book heroes are perilously close to looking rather silly.

The hugely talented Reynolds also has another film vying for the attention of studio bigwigs at Sundance. He plays a man buried alive whilst working in Iraq, who must try to save himself in Buried.
