David Oyelowo (the bad boss man in The Rise of the Planet of the Apes) has joined the cast of the soon to shoot Tom Cruise action film, One Shot.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oyelowo will play a veteran homicide detective investigating the shooting of five seemingly random people at a shopping centre. Rosamund Pike also stars as a district attorney who helps Cruise's Jack Reacher. The film is based on the bestselling novel by Lee Child, while the Oscar winning scribe of The Usual Suspects, Christopher McQuarrie has adapted the book and will direct the film.
Anyone who has seen McQuarrie's debut as a helmer, the criminally underrated The Way of the Gun, will be excited about this. I haven't read the novel, but McQuarrie is not a flashy action director. When someone fires a gun in his films you see the end result of what that bullet does. Looking forward to seeing what he does with a huge budget and superstar leading man.
