As we reported a few weeks ago, Disney plan to release a new Star Wars film every year until, well, forever actually.

One Star Wars spin-off that's been mooted for years now is a young Han Solo standalone movie and it seems more and more likely now with the news that Disney are casting a large net in order to find the right actor to pilot the Millennium Falcon.

Some are calling it the widest casting search ever, a hunt that needs Boba Fett involved. According to reports a massive 2,500 actors have either met with producers, had auditions or put themselves on tape so far. Casting director Jeanne McCarthy certainly has her work cut out.

A list of well known names has emerged to have been included in the aforementioned 2,500. The list includes Miles Teller (Whiplash), Dave Franco (Bad Neighbours), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Ireland's own Jack Reynor.

Reynor's casting would further enhance Ireland's relationship with the Star Wars universe with Domhnall Gleeson playing a villain in the new trilogy and Kerry's Skellig Michael being used as a location on multiple occasions.
