Clive Owen's career has waned of late, despite the actor still being a formidable presence on screen. Even in garbage like The Killer Elite, he managed to churn out a cohesive performance. Now he'll headline the action flick, Recall, reports Variety.
Mercury Rising director Harold Becker is directing the film, the trade paper describes as "centring on an NSA agent who tries to piece together the events surrounding a botched hostage rescue operation. As he gets nearer towards the truth, he discovers that there is no-one he can trust, and even his own memories are suspect." Sounds pretty by the numbers; but Taxi Driver and Raging Bull scripter Paul Schrader has penned the screenplay, so it could be interesting.
Owen has a couple of films awaiting release; the Dublin shot Shadow Dancer and the horror movie, Intruders.
