It's been confirmed today that cinemas will reopen across Ireland, effective from December 1st.

The cabinet meeting today approved a relaxation of lockdown measures across Ireland, allowing a number of businesses and venues to reopen from next Tuesday. As part of the easing of restrictions, museums, gyms, libraries, all retail outlets, and cinemas will be allowed to re-open from December 1st.

From Friday, December 4th, restaurants and pubs with a kitchen / food service will be allowed to reopen, however so-called "wet pubs" will only be able to serve takeaway drinks for the time being.

Meanwhile, people will be able to travel to different counties and visit homes from December 18th until January 2nd, with up to three households allowed to gather in one household at any given time.

With regards to cinemas, a number of new releases are already confirmed from next week onwards. Cartoon Saloon's 'Wolfwalkers' is set for a December 4th release, as is psychological thriller 'Saint Maud'. Oscar contender biopic 'Mank', starring Gary Oldman and Amanda Seyfried, is also expected to receive a limited cinema release, as will Ryan Murphy's 'The Prom', starring Meryl Streep and James Corden.

We'll have a full round-up of all the cinema releases from December 1st on in just a little while.
