Zachary Levi, the star of the popular NBC series Chuck, has signed on to appear in a sequel to the surprise smash of last year, Alvin and the Chipmunks. Jason Lee will appear in the film also, but it's unclear if it's a lead role or merely a cameo, where Levi will then go off and be the new star. The last film made a ridiculously large amount of money, and it was a matter of time before this sequel was greenlit. It's strange casting choice, but if Lee is taking a back seat, they may just not want to pay his full contract fee for the sequel, and this is their way of getting around it. Anyway, we're sure this will make a mint regardless of whether it's any good or not.
