Legendary actor Christopher Lee has passed away at the age of 93.

The veteran actor was having respiratory problems and died at Westminster hospital in London as a result at 8.30am on Sunday morning. 

He last appeared on the big screen as recently as The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, but has starred in countless classic productions playing various iconic roles - including Dracula, and Scaramanga in Bond flick The Man with the Golden Gun.

His movies have grossed over $8 billion at the worldwide box office. He was honoured with the BAFTA Fellowship Award in 2011.

He has been married to Gitte Lee since 1961.

RIP to a great of cinema.
