The main cast members for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. animated movie have been revealed and leading them is MCU star Chris Pratt.

Chris Pratt will be voicing Mario in the movie. Charlie Day of 'It's Always Sunny' fame plays Luigi.

The voice cast also includes Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Jack Black as bad guy Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong.

Additionally, Kevin Michael Richardson will voice Kamek, Fred Armisen will voice Cranky Kong, and Sebastian Maniscalco will voice Foreman Spike.

While Chris Pratt will be voicing our hero, those hoping that longtime Mario voice actor Charles Martinet would also make an appearance will be happy to hear he is indeed also in the cast.

Martinet will have a series of featured cameos in the movie.

The Super Mario Bros. movie comes from Illumination Entertainment.

The studio was previously behind the 'Despicable Me' movies, 'Minions', 'Secret Life of Pets' and 'Sing'.

Super Mario was previously adapted into a 1993 live-action feature.

Starring Bob Hoskins as Mario and John Leguizamo as Luigi, the movie bombed with critics and at the box office.

The new Super Mario Bros. movie will hit cinemas next Christmas on December 21, 2022.
