Chrises Pine and Hemsworth - one of the several Hollywood Chrises - have both decided to walk away from the upcoming 'Star Trek' movie that's to be directed by its first female, SJ Clarkson.

According to a report by THR, the bone of contention is about money as Paramount is keen to bring the movie in on a tight budget after 'Star Trek Beyond' underperformed at the box office. Considering both Chrises are in the Marvel and DC cinematic universes, they're asking Paramount to keep to their deal and meet their quotes.

Meanwhile, the rest of the crew - that's Karl Urban as Bones, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Simon Pegg as Scotty and John Cho as Sulu - are all expected to close a deal shortly that'll see them return. Right now, there's no talk of recasting either of them - Hemsworth played George Kirk, James T. Kirk's father, who died in the first of the rebooted series - but that doesn't mean they won't and given how the two characters so central to the story, they might just have to do it if they want to see the movie made.

For now, neither Paramount nor the Chrises and their agents are saying anything, so it's just a case of watching and waiting to see what happens next.
