The film will not follow the actual toy Buzz (voiced by Tim Allen), but rather its "real-life" inspiration.

In the trailer we see the introduction of this "real-life" Lightyear blasting off into space and exploring the galaxy.

Just at the end, we catch a glimpse of the famous green and white spacesuit from the original 'Toy Story' movies.

Evans said about starring in the project: "The phrase ‘a dream come true’ gets thrown around a lot, but I’ve never meant it more in my life. Anyone who knows me knows that my love for animated films runs deep."

"I can’t believe that I get to be a part of the Pixar family and work with these truly brilliant artists who tell stories unlike anyone else. Watching them work is nothing short of magic. I pinch myself every day."

The movie was first announced at the 2020 Disney Investor Day.

'Lightyear' will release in cinemas on June 17th, 2022.
