Marvel are known for making some very smart choices to fill the supporting roles in their Universe.
There are Oscar winning thespians galore with the likes of Robert Redford, William Hurt and Anthony Hopkins all filling roles opposite our heroes. Well they're about to make that prestigious list even more....prestigious....with the news that Cate Blanchett is in talks appear in Thor: Ragnorak.
There's still no official announcement about who Blanchett would play with both a potential female villain and Marvel hero, Valkyrie are both being rumoured. Comic book fans will know that Valkyrie is an Asgardian warrior and one time love interest of Thor. We could definitely see Blanchett as a bad ass Marvel hero.
If Blanchett does sign on the dotted line then Thor: Ragnorak is very much shaping up to be one of the most exciting Marvel films yet. What We Do In The Shadows will be calling the shots which hints that there will be a large degree of levity in this film and with Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner involved we're expecting plenty of 'Hulk Smash'.
The film will be released in October 2017. In the meantime Blanchett can currently be seen in Carol.
