While he's being sought for hot property Son of Shaolin, if Johnson wants a franchise Universal are ready to give him one - The Wolf Man.
Previously Benicio Del Toro starred in a fun, but messy affair in 2010; the vision of pioneering music video director Mark Romanek clashing with the studio and the more accessible Joe Johnston was brought on board at late notice.
Universal are hoping to create a new cinematic universe here, with The Mummy starring Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe close to production.
