James Bond makers Eon are to branch out and produce a non Bond film for the first time. Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli will team up with Sony Pictures to develop the Mark Burnell (Black Hawk Down) novel Remote Control, about a former war correspondent, who now works as an intelligence analyst. Whilst presumably minding his own business, he comes across a conspiracy by Western governments to destabilise the Chinese economy. Sounds like it has the ingredients for a top drawer thriller, but no director has yet been announced to bring the material to the big screen. Eon are also prepping a remake of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
