Blade director Stephen Norrington has signed on to write and direct a reinvention of The Crow. Norrington hasn't directed a film since The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and was previously attached to helm Clash of the Titans for Warner Bros. but pulled out when he was "unable to excite Warner Bros. with my take, or influence the screenplay to any comfortable extent." The Crow was a big hit years ago, but is mostly remembered for the tragic death of its star Brandon Lee on set, when a prop gun fired out debris, killing him instantly. Norrington would appear to be a perfect choice for this type of overtly gothic material, and did a fantastic job directing the first Blade film; he's apparently spent the last five years writing and working on his art, and only recently decided to get back into directing. Edward Furlong was the last actor to portray the revenge seeking, reanimated antihero in the direct to DVD sequel The Crow: Wicked Prayer
