Benicio Del Toro is looking likely to join the cast of the new Star Trek film, apparently playing the main villain.
According to trade paper Variety, the film's director JJ Abrams has already met with the Oscar winning actor, and his part is thought to be that of a Klingon. An offer has been made, and Del Toro must've been interested to talk to the enigmatic helmer in the first place, so I would expect a deal to be closed soon.
The last Star Trek film was a huge worldwide hit, both critically and financially and launched Chris Pine as a leading man. The part is yet to be confirmed, but it is thought to be a Klingon - although that could be pure speculation. Eric Bana was the dastardly bad guy last time.
