This is a great time to be a fan of movies. The Golden Globes have come and gone, and we've still got the BAFTAs and the Oscars ahead of us. Yes, we are smack bang in the middle of Awards Season, which means all of those movies and all of those movie-makers who want to take home a handful of shiny award are all being released right around now.

This year's list of nominees is quite an eclectic list, from comedies to harrowing dramas, animations to sci-fi thrillers, and you can catch them all at your local ODEON Cinema. With branches all around the country, now is your time to head in and catch these important movies that all your friends have been talking about while you still can!

If you're looking to watch what are probably most easily labelled as "Big Issue Movies", then you've got one of the following at ODEON. First up, there's 12 Years A Slave, from director Steve McQueen (Hunger, Shame), with an all-star cast and particular stand-out performances from Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael Fassbender. Then we've got Dallas Buyers Club, featuring the award winning Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto, dealing with the AIDS crisis from the 1980s.

Perhaps you're in the mood for something a bit lighter, in which case we recommend either American Hustle or The Wolf Of Wall Street. The former is from director David O Russell (The Fighter, The Silver Linings Playbook), with an all-star cast including Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, all in outrageous hair-pieces and dealing with the FBI and con-artists. The latter is the latest Martin Scorsese / Leonardo DiCaprio duet, and is a three hour long ode to the excesses in life.

Maybe you want to head to cinema to check out some of the best actors in the game at the moment, in which case you've got a few to choose form. There's August: Osage County, which features the perma-great Meryl Streep, the rarely better Julia Roberts, and a roster of recognisable faces, all shouting at each other. Then there's the latest Coen Brothers movie, Inside LLewyn Davis, all about the 60s folk music scene in America, with a career-defining performance by Oscar Isaacs, best known for his supporting role in Drive. And then on Valentine's Day, we've got Her, about a man (Joaquin Phoenix) who falls in love with an artificial intelligence operating system (voiced by Scar-Jo). Yes, it sounds a bit weird, but from the director of Being John Malkovich, that's probably a given.

Finally, if you're in an ODEON cinema to experience the peak of visual and aural wonder, then here's what we recommend. If you haven't seen it yet, get to Gravity at ODEON now. Now. RIGHT NOW! It was our Best Movie of 2013, so remedy you having not seen it yet immediately. Next, there's Lone Survivor, which was nominated for two Oscars for its Sound Design and Sound Mixing, and the deafening yet intricate assault is something that really pushes the speaker systems to their limits! And last but not least, something for the whole family: Frozen. Nominated for Best Animated Movie, as well as Best Song ("Let It Go" is an absolute belter!), this is visually gorgeous, the songs are amazing, and its properly hilarious.
