While 'Avengers: Endgame' saw the finale of a major build-up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it never would have had the emotional punch that it did without 'Avengers: Infinity War'.

When it hit cinemas in 2018, 'Infinity War' became the first superhero film to gross over $2 billion worldwide.

It was the highest grossing movie the year of its release, and also the fourth movie to ever gross over $2 billion.

'Endgame' would smash that record again, but the importance of its predecessor in establishing story and building up momentum is undeniable.

Looking back on 'Avengers: Infinity War', it remains fair to say that the feature belongs more to Thanos than it does to the Avengers.

The ending truly shook audiences when it was released as fans had never seen their heroes lose. And lose so much, at that.

Some would even argue that overall, 'Infinity War' is a better movie than 'Endgame'. But of course, we Marvel fans love them all.

But what if we had to get rid of half of them..?
