Rumours have been circulating the interweb about Ridley Scott's Alien prequel, with Vulture saying production on the film had been delayed while Scott waited for a hole in Leonardo DiCaprio's schedule so he could star. The Inception star is now out of the film.
A female lead is still yet to be cast, although Carey Mulligan, Natalie Portman, Olivia Wilde and Noomi Rapace are still being linked with the role of "Elizabeth Shaw." Obviously with the linking of DiCaprio to a part, there is a strong male lead, with Scott extremely keen on landing in-demand Irishman Michael Fassbender for the part of David, an android. Early word is that negotiations with his representatives haven't gone great, but that doesn't mean he won't be involved.
A source is saying that a start date of March for production is likely, so expect more confirmed casting news soon when a budget is finalised.
