A third film in the Da Vinci Code series is reportedly in the works, according to Empire, after the writer of both 'Code' and Angels and Demons, Dan Brown, confirmed he was penning another instalment. The book will be called Lost Symbol, and Brown has apparently already finished the first draft, but is keeping the plot under wraps. Sony Pictures owns the rights to the Robert Langdon character on screen, so it's thought that a film version will follow soon after, once the sequel, Angels and Demons, performs as well as its expected to when it's released in May. It's not clear if Ron Howard would return to direct, or even if a script is currently being penned, but after the $700 million plus take of the first film, this is a far too profitable franchise for Sony not to bleed dry. Let's hope 'Demons' is better film than the inherently bland first flick, anyway.
