Director Rhys Waterfield introduces us to his anti-'Winnie' in the stills for the upcoming "R-rated" horror film 'Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey', which looks quite frankly, terrifying.

The film will be a horrifying retelling of the tale of A.A. Milne's once wholesome and cuddly characters Winnie, Piglet, and Christopher Robin dreamt up after the stories became public domain back in January.

In an interview with Variety, director Rhys Waterfield talks about the villain origin story of the once fuzzy wuzzies Winnie and Piglet, "Christopher Robin is pulled away from them, and he’s not [given] them food, it’s made Pooh and Piglet’s life quite difficult". How 'Oliver Twist' of him.

At the end of the day, Winnie and Piglet are, when it comes down to it, a bear and a pig. They're animals. So when their food source is cut off, yep you've guessed it, they go feral. The killer cuddlies set their sights on a very unsuspecting victim.

One of the stills that has people online losing their metaphorical marbles is of a woman laying back in an outdoor hot tub, completely oblivious as bloodthirsty Pooh and Piglet hover behind her.

Waterfield talks about finding balance between comedy and horror in this childhood bedtime story turned gruesome bloodbath movie, "there’s shots of Winnie the Pooh in a car and seeing him with his little ears behind the wheel and like slowly going over there [to kill her.]".

Unfortunately, (or maybe fortunately) there will not be a cameo from our favourite bouncing tiger 'Tigger', but we do get to see Eeyore's tombstone — spoiler, he was gobbled up by his former best friend's in the world. Oh bother.

We have to say, we never thought we'd be so interested in a 'Winnie the Pooh' slasher film, but here we are. Is it sick that we still think the ears are cute?

Keep your eyes peeled for the release date of 'Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey'.
