Without a doubt, MASK is one of those cartoon series from the '80s that's probably better known for its utterly bitchin' theme tune than anything else.
Failing that, there's a decent chance you either had a pair of MASK pyjamas or even a fold-up truck thingy that probably broke apart when your Aunt Patricia sat on it during Italia '90. Anyway, a live-action adaptation has been mooted for many years, but now it looks like it's finally coming to fruition as it's been confirmed that F. Gary Gray, director of Fast & Furious 8 and Straight Outta Compton, has been lined up to turn your childhood nostalgia into a workable film.
F. Gary Gray has his dancecard pretty well booked, what with him being also linked to the Men In Black spinoff / reboot / whatever with Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. There's no word yet on a release date, but considering how much money Fast & Furious 8 made at the box office, it's likely that Paramount are keen to kick it off as soon as possible.
Here's a blast of that theme tune, and if it doesn't get played in the movie, then what even is the point of anything.
