Earlier this week the up-and-coming star was reportedly snubbed an invite to the prestigious event.
It looks like now things have turned in her favour. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Academy has invited the 20-year-old to be a presenter at the ceremony.
Zegler is currently in London shooting Disney’s live-action remake of 'Snow White'. Apparently efforts are being undertaken to rearrange the film's shooting schedule to enable Zegler to be at the Oscars.
Last week, the Golden Globe winner claimed on Instagram that she won't be making an appearance on the red carpet. "I have tried it all but it doesn't seem to be happening," Zegler wrote in a reply to a fan.
"I will root for 'West Side Story' from my couch and be proud of the work we so tirelessly did 3 years ago. I hope some last minute miracle occurs and I can celebrate with our film in person but hey, that's how it goes sometimes." She added, "I'm disappointed, too. But that's okay. So proud of our movie."
She then followed up on Twitter saying, "my goodness, folks!! appreciate all the support, I really really do. We live in such unprecedented times, and a lot of work behind the scenes goes into making movie magic happen. That goes for film productions (like the one I am so lucky to be currently shooting in London) and awards shows alike. Let’s all just respect the process and I’ll get off my phone."
Looks like her wish finally came through. Who says miracles don't exist, eh?
The 94th Academy Awards take place on Sunday, March 27.
